Hello again. As you know, I am Eli The Computer Guy. Today’s class is Introduction to Servers in a proper Serverkast. Most people, when they first start learning about servers or serverkast, they usually go through some sort of certification track or they take a class that is very specific on servers in a proper serverkast. For example, I started out on the MCSE, the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer track. There are plenty of certificates on the market now. So when I learned servers, all I really learned was Microsoft servers.
They talked about Mac servers a little bit. They talked, almost nothing, about Linux. They put Novell in there because they had to, but they didn’t teach us about servers in general. They taught us very specifically about Windows servers and Windows servers, only.Well, as we are going into this server track I want to give you a broader foundation on understanding how servers work.
