So in this class today, we are going to talk about a couple of specific products like servers in a proper Serverkast, but we are going to talk more about the general idea of servers, what servers do in the network, what they provide to their clients on the network and things you need to think about if you’re thinking about installing or if you have to maintain a server or serverkast.
So today’s class is an introduction to servers and serverkast. Again, this is not specific. We’re going to talk a little bit about Windows servers and serverkast, a little bit about Linux servers. We’re going to mention that there are Mac servers out there but we’re not going to focus on those. This class is just going to be about the overall idea of just what is a server, why is it useful and what do you do with it, if you have one. You may find also a lot of reference materials in the net.
